How to Use Fretboard GPS
- 1 Select a root note (KEY) and scale from the dropdowns
- 2 The fretboard lights up with color-coded note roles: root, 3rd, 5th, 7th, and extensions
- 3 Toggle between Notes and Intervals views to switch naming systems
- 4 Use SYSTEM to explore CAGED, 2NPS, 3NPS, 4NPS, 2-1-2, 3-1-3, and Pentatonic position logic
- 5 Open Settings for advanced controls: strings, CAGED chord source/type, interval injection, and overlays
- 6 Switch to Ear Training mode to test note recognition
- 7 Click any note dot to hear it
Pro Tip: Use 2NPS to visualize diagonal phrase paths, then compare the same key in 3NPS and CAGED to internalize the full neck.
