“Gingerburst” Guardian Angel
Rock Machine
“Anderson had begun offering their new ‘Baby Floyd’, bridge which is a recessed locking tremolo that does not require a locking nut, and I just wanted one! I also have always have loved the aesthetic of pickguard guitars, and thought this would make a great sibling to my first Guardian Angel Player.

More recently, pursuing experimentation and fun, I’ve begun modifying it. I kept the guitar stock until February 2020 when I decided to start swapping pickups, and making hardware modifications.
I swapped out the bridge baseplate to experiment with a different arm attachment/trem arm. The attachment itself is an Ibanez arm attachment. It is super glued in place. My intent was to use their ‘Ultralite Trem bar’, which is a carbon fiber trem arm. Relative to a traditional metal trem arm, it is very light. It feels more natural to me in my hand and as a result i feel it gives me more precision. An added bonus is that angle of the guitar wont affect the tuning as much. Traditionally, if you lean forward or backward, the weight of a metal trem arm will press/depress the bridge, causing tuning annoyances. With that being said, after much comparison, I think the Anderson trem arm and attachment provide a more stable and smooth action overall. I’m in no rush to swap it out though, this still works great.
